Throughout the last couple years, I’ve covered multiple sports events, one of which I’d like to highlight: the rivalry of Lake Oswego versus Lakeridge soccer squads.

The physicality ramped up another notch in the second half, with Lakeridge desperate to earn a draw and Lake Oswego determined to hold onto victory. After a nice attack by Lakeridge senior Johnny Rodas-Hills nine minutes into the half, a hard challenge by Lakers junior Chase Hoffinger earned Hoffinger a yellow card, the first of three of the night for the Lakers.

Cheesy, I know. But part of the charm of establishments like Portland Cider Company is that they don’t shy away from being corny because they know in SE, that tongue-in-cheek charm earns loyalty from the locals. I’ve already become a regular at many of the haunts in the area, having interviewed plenty of the owners and entrepreneurs. Establishing rapport builds integrity with your clients, whether its being published in the local newspaper or having a slogan like “Always Hard” when it comes to your cider.
